Delaney Marling Partnership Ltd were approached to take part in a tender process to undertake the asset survey and provide a 5-10 year plan for the Belvedere Academy in Liverpool.
DMP were awarded the work, attended and under took survey of the property, which is based in the Toxteth area of Liverpool, over a three day period.
The complex of properties were found to be a collection of buildings from the brand new administration/teaching extension finished just before the survey, to a converted 18th Century convent.
Over a number of years the property had been extensively extended to create a private girls school which converted to academy status in 2011.
DMP used one of their Mechanical & Electrical consultant partners to provide a full survey/inspection of the services to the property to help present the client with a 10 year asset management plan for the property.
The use of a MWEP as part of the survey enabled the surveyors to look at all the roofs and high level walls/elements to get a full picture of the condition of the school.
The school currently uses the asset plan to budget future property maintenance as well as the basis for funding bids for improvements.
Since undertaking the Asset Management Survey DMP returned to the school to act as Party Wall Surveyors when an adjacent property was purchased and redeveloped.
The neighbours plans had potential effects on the schools property and DMP acted on behalf of the school to ensure these effects were minimised and agreed prior to construction works.
